Edexcel GCSE Biology Revision
Edexcel (Pearson) GCSE Biology covers the same core biology as the other major boards but with its own topic ordering and exam style. The specification is split into broad topics like key concepts in biology, cells and control, genetics, natural selection, health/disease/medicines, plant structures, animal coordination and ecosystems.
Use the topic list below to revise Biology with notes, flashcards and exam-style questions. Each topic page is built around clear definitions and worked-through processes — exactly what Edexcel mark schemes credit.
Edexcel questions often present unfamiliar contexts (a graph, a novel organism, a piece of data) and ask you to apply standard biology to it. The Recall generator's exam-question mode is designed to give you practice doing that.

Edexcel Biology FAQs
Is Edexcel GCSE Biology harder than AQA?+
The underlying biology is the same and grade boundaries are set so that a grade 7 on one board is comparable to a grade 7 on another. The wording of questions and the order of topics differ, but the content overlaps almost entirely.
What is assessed on Edexcel GCSE Biology papers?+
Edexcel GCSE Biology is assessed by two written papers at the end of the course. Each paper draws on a defined set of topics and contains a mix of multiple-choice, short-answer and longer extended-response questions, plus questions on the core practicals.
Do I have to memorise equations for Edexcel Biology?+
There are a small number of formulae you should know (e.g. magnification = image size / actual size, percentage change). For most of the paper, the marks come from biological explanation rather than calculation.
