Terms & Conditions

These terms are a contract between you and Recall ("we", "us") and govern your use of the Recall website and app. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Recall.

1. Who can use Recall

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
If you are under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian is happy for you to use the service and to pay for Pro if you choose to upgrade.
You're responsible for keeping your login details secure.

2. Acceptable use

When using Recall, you agree not to:

upload content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexual, or otherwise harmful;
paste in other people's personal data without permission;
attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer or scrape the service;
use Recall to cheat in a way that breaches your school's, college's or exam board's rules — for example by submitting AI-generated work as your own under a non-AI assessment;
resell or redistribute the service or its outputs as if they were your own product.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the notes you paste in and the study sets generated from them. You grant us a limited licence to process that content only as needed to run the service (e.g. sending it to our AI provider to generate the requested material, and storing study sets you choose to save).

4. AI-generated content disclaimer

Recall uses an AI model (Google Gemini) to generate study material from your notes. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. You must:

review and verify any generated content against trusted sources (your textbook, teacher, exam board specification);
not rely on Recall for medical, legal, financial or other professional advice;
not treat AI-written model answers as official mark schemes.

The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent allowed by law, we exclude implied warranties and we're not liable for exam results, grades, or any indirect loss arising from your use of Recall. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

5. Free plan

The free plan includes up to 3 generations per day. Limits may change; we'll give reasonable notice in-app if they do.

6. Pro subscriptions (via Gumroad)

Pro is sold as a recurring monthly or annual subscription, processed by Gumroad. Gumroad's own terms and privacy policy also apply to your payment.
Prices are shown in GBP on the pricing page and include any applicable VAT.
Your subscription auto-renews at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
You can cancel anytime from the receipt email Gumroad sent you, or from your Gumroad account. Cancelling stops the next renewal — you keep Pro access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
If payment fails, we may downgrade your account to Free until payment is restored.

7. Refund policy

UK consumers normally have a 14-day right to cancel digital services. By starting a Pro subscription and immediately accessing Pro features (such as unlimited generations and PDF export), you ask us to begin the service straight away and acknowledge that this can end your statutory right to cancel once performance has begun.

That said, we want you to be happy. If something has gone wrong, email recallappai@gmail.com within 14 days of your purchase and we'll consider a refund on a case-by-case basis. Refunds are processed by Gumroad.

8. Service changes

We may add, change or remove features. If a change materially reduces what paying users get, we'll let you know and offer a fair option (such as a pro-rated refund or cancellation).

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, with notice where reasonable.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
